A first-person blend of gardening and tower defence – in space! Plant, develop and protect your alien crops to fight the onslaught of demons from another dimension. Grow your garden of defences, discover powerful plant synergies and be ready to adapt to survive.

My Role:

Programming the gameplay mechanics and systems, sound and user interface programming, as well as game design with the rest of the team.

This was my 2nd year Graphics project where I learnt how to create an OpenGL game from scratch. I aimed to make an endless flying game in space where you fly through gates. The controls are first person with floating-like movement, as if you are moving in space. Once you pass through with a gate, the next gate appears and you gain a speed boost. Several asteroids are scattered around orbiting the planet at varying distances.

Notable features:

Ray plane intersection test with additional radius constraints to act as a circle collision in 3D space, to check player collision with the inside of the gate.

Realistic space flight using acceleration and drag.

Critical Exposure is a first-person survival-horror game developed in Unreal Engine 5. Developed by a 2nd year team of 7, called "Occult Optics", at Falmouth University Games Academy.

You play a journalist investigating a abandand nuclear facility. Your aim is to explore the facility, taking photos, while avoiding a ghost located deep in the facility.

My Role:

Main gameplay features and the user interface using blueprints. Most notably taking photos and saving them to your camera roll and freezing the ghost with the camera.
